that's how it works

From idea to store

1

Fill out the form

Answer our questions as concretely as possible. The sharper your answers, the better we'll understand your idea.

2

We are reading it

You'll hear from us within four weeks!

3

Prototype on our table

If it's a good fit, we'll ask for your prototype or invite you to come play it.

4

Collaborate on

If it's a good fit, we'll develop it further together, and we'll handle production, marketing, and sales. You conceived it, we'll launch it.

What are we looking for?

Is your game a good fit for Pingion?

01

Brings people together

That's what really makes us happy. Whether it's family, classmates or friends, your game brings people around a table and keeps them there.

02

Quick to explain

You should be able to explain the objective and how to win within a minute. We don't need a thick rulebook.

03

Own twist

We're looking for something that is not just a variation of an existing game. We'd be especially happy with something that has its own gimmick, so people say "do you know that game with the..."

04

Target audience is clear

You know if it's a family game, party game, or kids' game.

05

Well tested

Preferably with more than just family. Play it sometimes with people you don't know, children, a real gaming group, or a party night with friends of friends.

06

Works for schools or businesses

We work extensively with primary schools and businesses. Bonus points if your game also shines in the classroom or at a team outing.

07

liever nietLess to our taste

Consider hardcore strategy marathons (longer than two hours), heavy wargames on maps, or expansions to an existing game. Does that sound like you? Then we're probably not the right publisher.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take for you to reply?

You will hear from us within four weeks, even if the answer is no.

Do I really have to make a video?

No, a video is optional for us. However, we do find it very helpful to see you and your game on video, as it gives us a few extra minutes of context. You can just use your phone, it doesn't have to be perfect.

What if I don't have a prototype yet?

Don't worry, first make something playable, even if it's made from printed paper and tape. We can only truly assess your idea with a working prototype, so that helps a lot.

What if it's not a match yet?

You will then receive an honest and friendly answer, in a few sentences. Often, it's about the match with our style or target audience, not the quality of your idea. Our "no" is therefore not a judgment of you, and sometimes it's a great opportunity to develop it further or try it with another publisher.

What if you do like my idea?

Then we'll call or email you for an initial meeting. We'll ask for your prototype, or come over for a game. If it's a good fit, we'll make clear agreements about royalties, development time, and planning. Nothing will be decided behind your back.

Who holds the copyright?

You remain the originator. In a collaboration, we make written agreements regarding licenses and royalties. We do not work with 'give us your idea and we'll take care of the rest' contracts.

Can I also pitch my game idea in person?

Coming to the office is possible after a first positive response. We prefer to work first based on your submission, so we don't have anyone make the trip unnecessarily.

I have an idea for a game as a corporate gift, is that also possible?

For this, we have a separate entry. Check out Custom Game: from 500 units, we can create a game entirely in your corporate identity or with your concept.

Releasing your own game with Pingion Games

YOUR GAME IDEA AT A DUTCH PUBLISHER

Pingion Games is a Dutch game publisher with games such as Letterprik, Tekenstrijd, and Gorgelchallenge. We are looking for new board and card games that bring people together: playful, accessible, and with a unique twist. Have you come up with a game idea and want to publish it? Fill in our application form, and we will evaluate your concept fairly and within four weeks.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A GOOD GAME

A strong game idea has a clear target group, an original game mechanic and can be explained within one minute. We like to work with games for families, children, classes or parties. Niche games, hardcore strategy games and expansions to existing titles do not fit into our assortment. A working prototype and written rules are required before we can assess your idea.

VIDEO NOT REQUIRED

Unlike many other publishers, we do not require a mandatory explanation video. A short five-minute video with your phone is very useful: this way we see you and your game directly. Prefer to write? That's fine too. Fill in the registration form as specifically as possible and optionally upload a PDF with game rules via a Google Drive or Swisstransfer link.
